Notice: This tool was retired and taken offline in June 2025. Trust for Public Land is collaborating with the Open Space Institute, The Nature Conservancy, Land Trust Alliance, American Forests, and Clark University to develop a suite of new and updated tools and resources for mapping and quantifying forest carbon data. Below are the currently available resources.

TNC Resilient Lands Mapper

This tool was recently updated to include new forest carbon data. You can upload shapefiles for individual parcels and calculate total carbon benefits.

TNC Conservation Dashboard

This also includes carbon data, summarized at the state and county scale. It’s especially useful for policy analysis, communications, and strategic planning rather than site-level assessment.

Avoided Forest Conversion Explorer

This tool was released recently through our partnership and maps forest loss, forest carbon, risk of conversion, and estimated carbon benefits of land protection projects based on regional development risk.
