Developer Sought to Build GIS Web Tool
Trust for Public Land (TPL) is a national nonprofit that works to connect everyone to the benefits and joys of the outdoors. As a leader in equitable access to the outdoors, TPL works with communities to create parks and protect public land where they are needed most. TPL is partnering with the EPA to build a searchable database and public-facing geospatial dashboard showing every project funded by the EPA’s Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmaking Program (EJTCGP) in EPA regions 1 –31.
We are seeking proposals to build this database, which will serve as a centralized tool for stakeholders to access, explore, and understand grant data efficiently. TPL is seeking organizations and developers who have experience in creating visually engaging, intuitive, interactive, and dynamic web applications. The ideal respondent will also have experience in creating data visualizations, mapping applications, and dashboards, along with reports and charts from various data sources.
A webinar for discussion/Q&A was held on February 7th, 2025. An FAQ document with additional information discussed at that webinar is linked here.
The deadline to submit a proposal is March 1st, 2025. One digital PDF copy of the proposal must be submitted by or on that date to Dale Watt (dale.watt@tpl.org). The email’s subject line should read “TPL data visualization hub RFP from [Your Organization’s Name].”
Funding for this project is contingent on a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Due to the ongoing developments regarding federal funding, please be aware that TPL reserves the right to cancel or modify this solicitation at any time, for any reason.

- Your organization does not have to be based in EPA regions 1-3 to submit a proposal for this RFP. ↩︎
